This large wheel-thrown mug is glazed using a layered technique that involves up to nine individual coats, combining three different glazes. The result is a shifting surface that mimics the movement and colours of the northern lights—deep blues, greens, purples, and occasional flashes of lighter tones melt and flow into each other, forming atmospheric patterns across the mug’s body.
The form is slightly taller—ideal for a café latte, a large tea, or any warm drink that invites a slow pause. The handle is intentionally smaller than standard, designed to be held securely with one or two fingers, allowing the body of the mug to rest naturally in the palm for a more ergonomic hold.
This image is representative. Each mug is unique in size, shape and glaze pattern. Unique. Just the way handmade things should be.
