This small bowl is wheel-thrown and features a hand-carved sgraffito band around the middle section. The design is inspired by tribal patterns and creates a strong visual contrast between the matte white and the darker carving underneath.
The surface of the bowl is divided into three horizontal sections. The inside and top outer edge are finished in a smooth matte white glaze. The middle band is unglazed and carved by hand, revealing black-and-white patterns through the sgraffito technique. The base is coated in a greenish-blue glaze that pools slightly where it meets the unglazed bottom, creating subtle shifts in tone.
It is perfect for small servings—sauces, dips, nuts, or just as a resting piece on a shelf or table.
Care:
While I recommend hand washing as the safest cleaning method, this piece is dishwasher (and microwave) safe.
